Fiscardo area. Pretty harbour with Venetian style buildings, traditional tavernas and boutique shops. Popular with the boating/yachting fraternity and often celebrity visitors. Scuba diving. Boat trips available to neighbouring islands.
Assos. On road from Fiscardo to Myrtos beach. Tiny harbour with Tavernas and remains of Venetian castle on the hill.
Myrtos beach Much photographed, beautiful white sandy bay with multi coloured water. (The road from Assos to Myrtos is currently closed for repair. The diversion is signed from Vassilikades to take you via Agia Efimia to Divarata and Myrtos).
Melissani lake Karavomilos. Underground lake and cave.
Drogorati cave Just outside Sami. Large cave. Has been a concert venue.
Omala Valley (1) St Gerasimos Church and Monastery. Rebuilt after 1953 earthquake.
Houses the bones of the Patron Saint of Kefalonia.
(2) Robola Winery. Co-operative winery of the island. Visitors
welcome. Wine tasting.
Mount Aenos The summit is 1600 metres above sea level. A tarmac road runs to the top from the junction at the Argostoli-Sami road. On a clear day the mainland can be seen from the top.
St George’s Castle Venetian castle mostly open Tues-Fri am.
Argostoli. The Capital Harbour front has fishing boats and boat trips, fruit and veg markets, bakeries and meat markets. Ferry from here to Lixouri. Best place to see the Caretta Caretta turtle near the fishing boats when they land their catch each morning. Banks, shops, churches etc.
Beaches Soft sandy beaches are along the south coast from Lassi to Skala

Poros Ferry port to mainland. Banks, Cash Machines, small shops.
